Babies first Boo

Rowan enjoyed her first Halloween, she got to go around trick-or-treating and watch all the kids in their costumes from her stroller. I took a little girl who's parents were helping Dad with his spook house out so we got to go around and not ask for candy...it's not like Rowan can eat it anyway, and I always thought it so strange that people would have a candy bag for an infant. Like we don't know who that candy is really for. Rowan was not frightened by anything, she just enjoyed all the lights and colors, and kept her eyes open as long as she could.

She is not crawling yet but can get about just fine anyway. She does some butt-scootching and some rolling and can pull herself up on her knees to get things on top of tables.

Finally new pics!!

I know I'm horrible. Rowan is so cute and you are all in dire need of new pictures. She is sitting well unaided, and will be crawling any day now. She is eating food, but does not like baby food, she needs some texture. She likes all kinds of diced up squash and apples, as well as cherrios and other baby cracker type things.

We went to visit the Russell/Merendas in Utah a week ago, and Rowan had an awsome time playing with her cousins. She was very good on the flights there and back and just about every man on the plan especially on the way home was in love with her. She is such a flirt! What a great way to meet men though! haha... We went to the zoo in Salt Lake and there was a baby arangatange who seemed to love Rowan too. The too of them stood on either side of the glass with their hands very close to one another and stared and both made noises. I can't believe I didn't get a picture!

I got a new job doing some technical writing/editing as well as some basic clerical duties part time at a company called Northpinte Institute. They make software for prisons and other correctional facilities among other things. I guess it's a good field to get into when the economy is so bad. We always need prisons! Especially during times of economic hardship.

Rowan is enjoying daycare while I'm at work in the mornings! She goes to Miss Tina's house from 9am-1pm everyday and has made a few friends and really seems to enjoy the social time. This is such a relief to me as I was TERRIFIED of taking her to daycare. I am also doing well during our separations, though am always eager to get her when it's time to go.

To Connie and Steve and Kate and Doug and others who are far away, sorry it was so long between pictures this time. I will keep trying to be more consistant, but consistancy never was one of my strengths... Hope you are all well

Out on Elk with the Husbands

we went boating with Uncle Shawn and fam on Friday and I could not believe how good Finn is on his wake board already! He learned from the best and Uncle Shawn put on a good show for us too. Finn and Sully were also very good with Rowan, making a bed for her below deck and playing with her. Rowan is eating a little Rice Cereal and bananas these days. She does not really like either, she just kind of feels their texture in her mouth and tries to spit most of it out, she'd rather have breast milk but who wouldn't right?

End of summer blues

I noticed some leaves turning bright colors on the drive to TC today and said to Emme "good god not yet." She agreed. I am missing all my family members who were here this summer and have gone for another year, especially My Tia hermana Kate and family... they are so far away now! But I'm looking forward to things to come. Rowan's half birthday is the 28th! It's so unreal to me. It feels like just a flash since she was born and at the same time, the old cliche, I can't imagine my world without her. I have not been out (except to work) since she was born, and I think I'm actually starting to have a desire to go out again. I'm thinking Rowan and I need to find a play group or something to start socializing a bit...

saying goodbye

The Merenda Family are on their way back to Utah tomorrow morning. Ethan and Gavin pulled Rowan up and down Bridget's driveway in her little red wagon (strapped into her carseat). It was so cute and all three of them had so much fun. It was a tearful goodbye but we are planning to go out to Utah for a visit this fall.

We have so much family in town right now! It is wonderful, everyday feels like vacation, even though I am working about 4 nights a week. Aunt Kate & Uncle Doug and family are here and Maggie has been a terrific help with Rowan. She does everything, from putting Rowan down for a nap to changing poopy diapers to playing with and entertaining.

Amber is here too, and Ethan and Gavin have been an incredible help as well. I am so pleased by how loving they are with Rowan. She sure loves her cousins! It is so easy to keep her occupied and happy when they are around because she just loves to watch their every move.

Joanna and Kian have been here since the end of June. I wish they would just move here! I love walking down the ally to see what they're up to, just like when we were kids. Kian is a Tschudy, and looks so much like his Uncle Ron and Cousin Jake.

So we are increadibly blessed and blissful these days. Elk Rapids in the summertime. Paradise.

Rowan is growing and changing so quickly. She will be five months old very soon (July 28th). Some of her favorite things right now are playing with cousins, sucking on her toes, playing in the water and her dog Mugsly. Of course nursing is number one. And there she is now, waking up and crying to be nursed. So thats it for now.
